- She arrived in Mumbai at the age of 17 to launch herself as a music artiste and made an album with Lalit Sen.
- She has done her Masters in Music and is quite adept at reading, writing and teaching Indian classical music.
- Her remix version of Jugni, originally sung by Arif Lohar, went on to become a big hit and amazed 3 million hits online. She also went on to win the best British Asian award.
- She considers Manmeet of Meet Brothers fame as her Rakhi brother.
- Baby doll was her claim to fame in Bollywood, and she won a Filmfare award.

- Raj divorced his wife as their relationship was in turmoil over the fact that he allegedly cheated on her with a married Pakistani woman.
- As a gift on their tenth wedding anniversary on his wife’s insistence Raj gifted her a music album.
- In an interview, Kanika stated that though she had a lot of wealth and money at her disposal after her wedding, she didn’t feel the love or the respect, leading to a miserable, unhappy marriage.
