Jeannie Mai is an American television host, celebrity stylist, and makeup artist. She’s won 2 NAACP Image Awards and a Daytime Emmy for the talk show ‘The Real.’ Mai has also made a name for herself on the shows ‘How Do I Look?’ and ‘Character Fantasy.’ She’s made multiple television appearances on programs like Entertainment Tonight, Today, and E! Jeannie Camtu Mai was born on January 4, 1979, in San Jose, California. Her mom, Olivia TuTram Mai, is Vietnamese, and her dad, James Mai, is Chinese. She has two siblings, Daniel and Dennis. CAREER
Mai was only 18 when she began working for MAC Cosmetics. She climbed the ranks, going from a trainer all the way up to a respected makeup artist and stylist. Mai has since traveled the globe working with some of the biggest names in the industry. Her past clients include Alicia Keys, Rosario Dawson, and Christina Aguilera. Mai would ultimately take her craft to television. She served as a celebrity stylist on MTV’s Total Request Live, and on KMAX-TV’s Good Day Sacramento. Mai co-hosted the short-lived Asian American show ‘Stir TV.’ She later landed a gig as a reporter/producer for the WB’s The Daily Mixx.

From 2006 to 2009, Mai co-hosted the reality show ‘Character Fantasy’ on the USA Network. She served as a celebrity makeup artist on 10 Years Younger (2004-09), and as a judge on Miss America: Reality Check (2008). Mai hosted ‘How Do I Look?’ from 2009 to 2012 for a total of 25 episodes. She was a fashion expert on The Biggest Loser (2011-12), a panelist on Hollywood Uncensored with Sam Rubin (2012), and a correspondent on The 2012 Miss USA Pageant (TV Special).

Mai hosted ‘Miss Universe 2012’ and served as a correspondent on ‘Miss USA’ the following year. She hosted the weekly series ‘Style Pop’ for the Style Network. 2013 turned out to be a big year for Jeannie Mai. That year she became the first Vietnamese-American to co-host the talk show ‘The Real.’ She’s contributed to more than 1,000 episodes to date. In 2018, Mai and her fellow The Real co-hosts (Adrienne Bailon, Loni Love, Tamera Mowry) won a Daytime Emmy Award for their work.

In 2015, Mai hosted the reality competition series ‘Steampunk’d’ on the Game Show Network (GSN). She was featured in a 2018 episode of Freeform’s Famous in Love.
